The San Mateo County LGBTQ Commission elected Stevie Jolie Stallmeyer to serve as its co-chair on November 3, 2015. She joins Jenny Walter in the shared leadership of the commission.

Stevie Jolie Stallmeyer was born “Stephen Joseph” the youngest and only genetic male of two adopted children. After a lengthy journey of self-discovery which included a 37-year marriage and five children, Stevie embraced the joy of finally living as her authentic self and legally became Stevie Jolie Stallmeyer in 2013. In 2014 she remarried and currently lives with her new wife in Menlo Park. When she is not working at the West Bay Opera, she volunteers her time to help others overcome the great barriers - physical, emotional, social and legal to become their true authentic selves. Her vision is to help create a society where children who do not identify with their assigned birth gender will be embraced by enlightened parents and an accepting community.
